Real Digital Media Teams with AccuWeather to Provide Rich Localized Media Content for Digital Signage

Network operators using Real Digital Media's NEOCAST® digital signage solution now gain access to AccuWeather news, sports and weather content

Real Digital Media (RDM), a leading provider of next generation digital signage products for establishing point-of-purchase marketing, promotions and corporate communication networks, today announced a partnership with AccuWeather, The World’s Weather Authority™, to provide digital signage network operators access to the latest weather, sports and news information. The relationship represents an industry first for AccuWeather, and an innovative partner to help Real Digital Media continue to meet the growing demand for localized, dynamic content.

Real Digital Media and AccuWeather engaged in a collaborative development process to integrate AccuWeather’s content feeds with RDM’s SpotSwap™ technology, a patent-pending feature of Real Digital Media’s NEOCAST® digital signage solution.

SpotSwap™ allows digital signage network operators to generate a single, master playlist with placeholders for the insertion of local media content. By integrating with this technology, the latest up to date AccuWeather content can be rapidly inserted into playlists to ensure viewers are receiving the most relevant content for their location.

AccuWeather’s digital signage content modules include current local weather conditions, hourly and five-day forecasts, regional radar, video forecasts, and weather trivia, plus sports news, U.S. or world news, business news, and financial information. Many of AccuWeather’s digital signage modules are also available in Spanish.
